November 1923 Founded the company as the hardware wholesaler Sato Tamotsu Store at our current location.
December 1935 Reorganized the company as a limited company and named it Sato Tamotsu Store Co., Ltd. (capital: JPY 500,000).
April 1944 Changed the company name to Sato Metal Trading Co., Ltd.
April 1948 Opened the Osaka Branch.
1949～1950 The distribution and price controls on non-ferrous metals were gradually abolished, and the company continued selling non-ferrous metals as their sale became free.
October 1956 Increased the capital to JPY 50 million.
January 1958 Increased the capital to JPY 75 million.
March 1959 Increased the capital to JPY 100 million.
June 1964 Opened the Okaya Branch.

July 1989 Opened the Takasaki Branch.
February 1990 Moved SATO-AMERICAN METAL, INC. to Nashville, Tennessee.
February 1995 Opened the Sato Ace Co., Ltd. Shenzhen Office in Shenzhen.
December 1995 Opened the South Kanto Branch.
February 1999 Opened the Shanghai Representative Office in Shanghai.
August 2001 Obtained ISO 9002 certification (head office and all other offices).
December 2001 Obtained ISO 14001 certification (Osaka Branch).
August 2003 Obtained ISO 9001: 2000 certification (head office and all other offices).
March 2004 Increased the capital to JPY 315 million.
December 2004 Opened the Nagoya Branch. Obtained ISO 14001 certification (the Gulf Coast Center).
February 2005 Established the Shanghai Representative Office as a local subsidiary.
Opened SATO ACE (SHANGHAI) CO., LTD. in Shanghai.
March 2005 Completed an office building for the Sendai Branch.
April 2006 Established Sato Metal (Thailand) Co., Ltd. in Bangkok.
December 2007 Moved Sato Metal (Thailand) Co., Ltd. to Ayutthaya.
January 2008 Opened SATO ACE (GUANGZHOU) TRADING CO., LTD. in Guangzhou.
April 2009 Completed an office building for the South Kanto Branch.
September 2013 Completed an office building for the Nagoya Branch.
January 2017 Opened SATO-MEXICANA METAL S.de R.L.de C.V. in Mexico.
April 2018 Completed an office building for the head office.
June 2018 Opened the Himeji Office.
